Review: ibis Ambassador Busan City Center

We stayed at this hotel during Summer 2018. We choose this hotel as the price was great as well as the reviews. We opted in for a Deluxe Double room, the best available room at this hotel. Due to our Gold status, we received two complimentary drinks (soft drink, wine or beer).

Busan

Busan is South Korea’s second biggest city. It is located in the south. Haeundae is the largest beach of South Korea.

Location

The hotel is located in the middle of Busan right next to a subway station, in the last 8 floors of a tall building. The reception is located on the last floor, 21st floor. You reach any end of Busan within about 30 minutes by subway.

Rooms

Our room was very spacious, with a normal double bed, a large desk, TV and a single chair. We had a corner view on the 20th floor overlooking Busan on two sides which was very nice. The bathroom is spacious as well with a walk in shower.

Definitely something which was not quiet so nice were the curtains. You can see in the picture that they were not really darken the window so early in the morning the room was already full of light which might be a problem if you do not have a deep sleep.

Food & Drink

The hotel has one restaurant which serves as bar, breakfast, lunch and dinner space. For breakfast the restaurant was just fine but for a bar and as a dinner restaurant it felt somehow cold.
Breakfast was really good for an ibis and enough Asian and Western dishes were available, from eggs, salad, pancakes over miso soup, as you can see in the picture. A drawback however was that most of the hot dishes weren’t that hot anymore.

Staff

At the reception, staff was veryfriendly. We had a drink at the bar were we waited a little bit too long to be served, and it took the staff quite some time to put away the empty plates during breakfast despite the fact that the place is rather small.

Other Services

WiFi was available free of charge. They also provide laundry service except on Sundays.

Conclusion

The hotel is well located to explore Busan. A draw back however is that you can’t darken your room properly. However when you are looking for a good priced hotel, you should consider this ibis.
