Lounge Review: United Polaris Lounge Chicago

This is our review of the United Polaris Lounge Chicago which we visited in summer 2023.

Access and Location

The United Polaris lounge Chicago is located in Terminal 1, Concourse C.

Access to the United Polaris Lounge at Chicago O’Hare International Airport is granted to passengers in United Polaris Business Class and First Class and to Star Alliance Gold Status passengers.

Seating Options

The United Polaris Lounge Chicago offers a variety of seating options for travellers. You have the option between lounge chairs, dining tables, private working booths and bar seating.

The lounge was not too crowded in the evening, so you could have a seat at whatever section you liked.

Food and Drinks

The food and beverage offerings at this lounge significantly surpass the offerings found in most other lounges in the US.

The standout feature, is “The Dining Room”, an exclusive area where guests have the opportunity to reserve a table and enjoy a table service experience featuring a designated menu, as presented in the images below. Unfortunately, we failed to secure a table reservation in advance, and thus were unable to partake in this exceptional feature.  But it seems that we misunderstood the reserved signs at each table. According to an information that we’ve found on another website, the reserved sign is just to make it clear that these tables are saved for à la carte dining, and guests are discouraged from sitting there otherwise.

Nonetheless, the buffet options for food were very good as well with an extensive selection of both, hot and cold dishes from around the world, and a delightful selection of appetizers and desserts.

Additionally, to that, in terms of drinks, the lounge did not fall short of expectations. Soft drinks were available at the buffet, while the bar staff served an extended array of alcoholic beverages. The choices ranged from various beers to top-tier wines and spirits, in addition to a selection of excellent cocktails. In terms of drink service, it might be the most outstanding lounge we have had the pleasure of visiting in the United States so far.

Hello, I was wondering the same when I returned home, so I looked into that again. It seems that we misunderstood the reserved signs at each table. According to an information that I’ve found on another website, the reserved sign is just to make it clear that these tables are saved for à la carte dining, and guests are discouraged from sitting there otherwise.
