Lounge Review: Austrian Senator Lounge Vienna Terminal 3

Our Austrian Senator Lounge, Vienna review, Schengen area in Terminal 3.

Location and Access

The Austrian Senator Lounge Vienna is located in Terminal 3 of Vienna airport, near to the F gates prior to the passport control. Passengers departing from Terminal 3 have the possibility to visit this lounge.

Access to the Austrian Senator Lounge in Vienna is limited to Miles-and-More Senator members, as well as Star Alliance Gold members flying internationally on the same day.

Seating options

Except for a few designated rest places located towards the back of the lounge, this lounge is a single, vast room with no privacy.

In terms of seating options, the main pieces of furniture are dining tables and seats, which are supplemented by a small variety of relaxing armchairs, scattered all around the room.

Due to its relatively small size, the lounge can get crowded, especially during busy times. As a result, finding a cozy spot to sit becomes challenging because of the limited available space.

Food and Drinks

In terms of food, the selections are comparatively modest, yet the quality is of an exceptional standard.

Guests can choose from a variety of salads and cold snacks available at the buffet. Additionally, there is a selection of hot dishes, personally prepared by a dedicated lounge waiter, nicely presented and tasting very good.

The dessert options, though limited in number, are also of a high standard of quality and are conveniently accessible from the buffet.

The beverage selection within the lounge is extensive, with a variety of soft drinks, an assortment of wines, beers, and an array of premium spirits. This selection is self-service, so guests can mix their drinks themselves according to their preferences.

Other Services

Several designated rest areas are provided within the lounge. Regrettably, the shower facilities and toilets, are shared and positioned outside the lounge. Consequently, the overall amenities offered here fall short of expectations and can be deemed less favorable, especially considering this to be a “flagship” lounge.

Notwithstanding these drawbacks, it is noteworthy that the lounge boasts an appealing view overlooking the apron of Vienna Airport.

Some newspapers can be found beside the entrance, and Wi-Fi is of course also available.

Conclusion

Although the culinary offerings within this lounge are excellent, a significant downside becomes apparent during peak hours due to the relatively small size of the lounge. Furthermore, the lack of restroom and shower facilities within the lounge is a significant disadvantage.
