Hotel Review: Sofitel Luxembourg Europe

5-Star Hotel Sofitel Luxembourg Europe review.

Location

This Sofitel Hotel is located in Kirchberg, the other side of the street from the Philharmonie Luxembourg.

Kirchberg is a district of Luxembourg with many new buildings, restaurants and shopping malls. The tramway of Luxembourg’s new tram runs along the hotel and the station “Philharmonie/Mudam” is very close. Sadly, the tram hasn’t yet been connected to the airport, but that will happen in a few years as well.

A new small shopping mall is also located next to the hotel.

The Contemporary Art Museum of Luxembourg is only a few steps away, it is located behind the Philharmonie where you have a wonderful view over Luxembourg City-

Rooms

The rooms are big, and they offer all the comfort you need, like a BOSE Sound System. A Minibar was also available, but it was empty, most probably due to the Covid-19 situation.

We’ve booked the LUXURY ROOM, 1 King Bedroom. This room is 37m², it is exactly the same as the magnifique room which is on a higher floor and the premium luxury room which is on the top floor.

The bedding in Sofitel is usually excellent, but it was a bit disappointing this time as the pillows were too hard, uncomfortable and big.

A Nespresso coffee and a tea machine with different tastes was available, just after the entrance.

The bathroom had a bathtub and a shower, the toilet was in a separate room. You could find more than enough towels, slippers and Hermès Bath Amenities in the bathroom.

Food & Drinks

Sofitel was offering in room service, however only from Novotel, that is situated next to the hotel, and their menu looks too much like fast food.

The hotel receptionist informed us that we would have the possibility to order food delivery from one of the many restaurants in that area via the internet. That’s exactly what we did, and we ordered excellent Sushi.

Breakfast was served in room, you could choose in advance what you wanted and on what time, which worked perfectly. The breakfast itself was also excellent, from the coffee to the eggs and everything else.

Staff

The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Bottom Line

Sofitel Luxembourg Europe is an excellent hotel. We had our wedding here years ago, and also this time the hotel didn’t disappoint us.

The hotel is offering as well a gym, laundry and more amenities that you can find in a 5-star hotel.
