Flight Review: Lufthansa FIRST Class

Lufthansa FIRST Class review from Frankfurt to Shanghai.

Boarding and Check in

Check-in was done in the exclusive Lufthansa First class Terminal, a full review of this can be found under the link here.

As the boarding time for your flight approached, your dedicated personal assistant promptly contacted you within the comfort of the exclusive lounge, ensuring a seamless experience. You then proceeded downstairs to a bespoke border control point, reserved solely for passengers of the first-class terminal, where your passport was verified in seconds. Following this, you were escorted to a private vehicle, which transported you directly to the aircraft, eliminating any need to queue and allowing you to board with utmost convenience.

Seats

Although you noticed the seats were older, their design remains spacious, offering plenty of room for your comfort. If you craved a more intimate dining experience, you could ask a flight attendant to arrange a face-to-face meal with your companion, which would be promptly organized.

The seat provides ample space to stow your personal belongings with ease. In the lie-flat position, the bed is generously sized, ensuring restful sleep. As night fell, attentive flight attendants prepared your bed, adding a cosy topper and comfortable bedding.

But, the main drawback with the seats is the lack of privacy, as the seat feels somewhat exposed.

Food & Drinks

The dinner on this flight was amazing, with great presentation and flavours that really stood out. It started with caviar and ended with a nicely done dessert, everything tasted awesome.

Breakfast was decent too, but it didn’t quite match the fantastic dinner.

Service & Amenities

Wi-Fi was free for first-class passengers, and the speed was decent, nothing crazy but good enough.

The pyjamas and bedding were super comfy, making it easy to catch a solid couple of hours of sleep without any hassle.

The staff were super friendly and on top of things. They swung by the small cabin multiple times during the flight, checking if you wanted more drinks or food.

They also explained everything clearly, so you always knew what was going on.

The amenity kit looked awesome, but honestly, it wasn’t much better than what you’d get in business class.

The toilet was just a standard one, nothing special about it.

Bottom Line

Lufthansa First Class remains an exceptional way to travel, delivering a high-end experience despite a seat that feels somewhat exposed and less modern compared to the sleek, contemporary designs of Middle Eastern carriers.

The bed is wonderfully comfortable, the cuisine is outstanding, and the crew’s attentiveness is impeccable. The true highlight, however, is the unparalleled ground experience at the First Class Terminal in Frankfurt, which elevates the journey to something truly memorable.

If you can secure a good fare, Lufthansa First Class offers a luxurious and seamless experience that’s well worth the splurge.
