    Sooooo, I’m currently dealing with LATAM on this because I managed to grab one of these fares, kinda…

    The UK website kept glitching out when it came to the payment screen, so after multiple attempts it then came up with an error about “fares aren’t combinable”, then threw me off again. So, I decided to have a quick look at Expedia prices, and some were showing up but for £100 more than direct. I continued, and when it came to purchase, it eventually threw me off that too saying “these fares have gone”.

    So I went back to the LATAM site cause I was determined. Played with some alternate dates, had them on the phone (if only AWFUL was an anagram for LATAM!), they recommended I try the US site, so tried that and got a little further, at least to the seat selection page. Then, I can’t really remember what on earth happened but it seemed to process… then fail. However, it did give me a PNR and put the ticket on hold, saying that I have a deadline to pay for the reservation to be ticketed. So I then followed that link to charge to my AMEX, and it didn’t complete… Tried again, didn’t complete… Tried one last time, still wouldn’t complete. Just kept sending me to an error page, saying “service unavailable”.

    So, I still had a PNR, but no confirmation email or anything. Went to my AMEX, and there were the 3 x pending charges for the full amount. Eurgh! So it’s currently an ongoing debacle between terrible written/translated LATAM emails saying they’re trying to get to the bottom of it…

    Whether I actually come away from this with a BUD > ZRH > MAD > GRU > MAD > VIE > BUD for $600 in J is to be seen!
