If you’re after a business class deal with real flexibility, not just a one-off fare from a single city, this latest promotion by Etihad Airways is well worth checking out. Prices from a range of European departure points, including Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte Chicago, New York, Toronto and Washington have dropped noticeably, opening up a great opportunity to plan a long-haul trip to Asia or Africa with flexible dates and routing options.
At the same time, it’s important to be aware of the current situation in the region. While tensions in the Middle East remain, Zayed International Airport is open and operational, albeit with reduced activity. UAE airspace was briefly closed on 17 March as a precaution but has since reopened. Etihad Airways is currently operating to around 70 destinations, though with reduced frequencies.
For travel later in the schedule, there’s a reasonable expectation that conditions will continue to improve, which makes this deal particularly interesting if you’re planning ahead.
How to Book
In many cases, the cheapest fares show up via online travel agencies (OTA’s). In this case booking directly through Etihad Airways is usually the safer bet. If anything changes, whether it’s a schedule adjustment or a cancellation, it’s generally much easier to handle refunds or rebookings directly with the airline.
One small quirk: the fare calendar on Etihad’s website doesn’t always highlight the lowest prices immediately. It’s worth checking individual dates manually, as better deals often appear once you click through.
