Lounge Review: Lufthansa Business lounge Frankfurt Terminal 1 Gates Z

Access & Location

This Lufthansa business class Lounge is located in Terminal 1, after security near the Z Gates. Access is granted to business class passengers flying on Star Alliance flights and to Star Alliance Status Members.

Seating options

As you can see in the pictures below, many different seating options are available. Nevertheless when we arrived at the lounge around 4:00pm, it was really crowded and it was hard to get a convenient spot. However 30 minutes later it became more quiet.

Food & Drinks

The drinks selection is good, with spirits, wine, beer and soft drinks to choose from. However in terms of food, the selection was really poor. Some salad, bread, 2 types of soup, wiener würstl and some dessert were the only things available.

Other services

WiFi is available free of charge as well as some shower rooms. Small compartments to make your phone calls are located near the entrance. They have a small kids corner and even a smoking lounge inside their lounge. A wide variety of magazines is also available.

Conclusion

The lounge offers a lot of different seating opportunities, so even if it becomes crowded you should find a spot somewhere. The drink selection is standard and they offer lots of extra services. You can spend an hour here without a problem. However they definitely need to rethink their food offer which is marginal for an airline offering good service elsewhere.
