Hotel Review: Hilton Berlin
Hilton Berlin review of an executive twin room in autumn 2018.
Location
The hotel is centrally located at the “Deutscher Dom” and adjacent to the “Stadtmitte” tube station. You will find everything you need, from bars and restaurants over shops within walking distance from the hotel.
Room
The rooms are spacious and are equipped with a desk, a table and a lounge chair. Everything was very clean and the bathroom was adequate as well with a bathtub and the usual amenities. It was very quiet at night because our room was facing their patio.
Food & Drinks
The executive lounge is open 24h a day to grab some cookies and chips as well as soft drinks and coffee. They offer an afternoon tea time, breakfast as well as evening canapes. In the evening, beer, wine and all major spirits are available as well as some nice bites to eat.
The open bar is located near the reception and breakfast is served in their restaurant. The breakfast selection was nice, with lots of cold and hot choices as well as an egg station, definitely the high standard that you can expect in terms of breakfast from Hilton Hotels in Western Europe.
Staff
Staff in general, from the bar to the restaurant was polite and helpful. Especially the receptionist checking us in in the separate reception in the lounge was very friendly. However in the evening requesting a taxi, when no concierge was available we were told that only the concierge will do that and since he is currently unavailable we need to call a cab by ourselves. Fortunately everyone else at the hotel was very friendly.
Other Services
All usual services are provided by the hotel and the fitness room is quite nice with everything you need available multiple times.
Pass or Fail?
PASS
Despite the unpleasant experience when requesting a taxi, we had a good overall experience as the hotel is clean, modern and offers good services. This combined with the absolute wonderful location we can definitely recommend the Hilton Berlin.
