Review: Ibis Styles Sapporo
This review is from the Ibis Styles in Sapporo in a Deluxe King Plus non-smoking room from June 2018.
Location
The Hotel is located 2 minutes from Nakajima koen tube station in the south of Sapporo. 3 stations away by tube from Sapporo station. From Chitose Airport you can take the Rapid train to Sapporo and then the subway. The whole journey will take you about 50 minutes. A 24h Lawson store is accessible from the Hotel’s reception.
Rooms
For an Ibis, the room was very spacious. A small living area in front of the King bed, big enough bathroom lots of storage possibilities. Even a mobile phone is provided to the guests to take with you when going out. You can even share the mobile internet connection via WiFi. The only thing missing in the room was a safe deposit box.
Food & Drinks
The refrigerator in the room was empty and you could turn it on for personal use. A coffee machine with some pads was available. We had buffet style breakfast at their restaurant, which again for an ibis restaurant was very good. You could choose between several cold&hot Japanese dishes, all kind of eggs, sausage, meat, salad, fruits, soups, bread, yoghurt and so on.
In the evening we visited the bar located in the lobby of the hotel once. The cocktails were not that good but the service was friendly, unfortunately communication was not possible because we don’t know Japanese and the staff didn’t know English.
Staff
Everyone in the Hotel was very friendly. Upon arrival, we got a one category room upgrade with my Accor Le Club Gold status, a free drink (in form of a selection of soft drinks and alcoholic cans) and a welcome note.
Other Services
WiFi is available free of charge for all the guests. The only English TV channel is BBC but you can buy a Pay TV card for 1000¥ if you really want to watch TV.
A laundry room is available for self-cleaning as well.
Conclusion
The hotel is well located near a subway station. Rooms are surprisingly spacious and breakfast is good. Excellent value for money when staying in Sapporo.
