Flight review: BA CityFlyer Business class Luxembourg to London City E190

Flight review, BA CityFlyer E190 Business Class from Luxembourg to London City, July 2022.

At the airport

Check-in could be performed at the usual business class counter and the waiting time was very short.

In Luxembourg, there is no fast track for security for other airlines than Luxair.

Lounge Access is granted for BA CityFlyer Business class passengers.

The boarding itself was performed using the usual groups and was done pretty good.

Seats

Like with nearly all European carriers, the seats for Business class and Economy class are exactly the same. Even worse, Business class flights of British Airway E190 flights (BA CityFlyer), the seat next to you is not blocked meaning that unless you are sitting in the first row, you have absolutely no advantage at all flying Business class over Economy in terms of seating. However it seems that legroom also on the normal seats are not that bad.

Every seats has the usual air vents, tray table and hook.

Food and Drinks

Before your meal is served, you get asked what you would like to drink. As usual we opted in for a Gin Tonic.

Two different menus were available on our flight. We took the cold platter which was perfectly fine for a short flight of not even 50 minutes.

After the meal you could even get another round of drinks if you would have felt like it.

Other Services

To keep it short, no other services, pillows or amenity kits were provided on this short haul flight with BA CityFlyer.

Service

The Service on this particular flight was exceptional. Everyone was very friendly, and if you would need you could probably have gotten 3 rounds of drinks as the crew constantly asked the passengers if they would need something else.

Bottom Line

Considering that not even the seat adjacent to you is free, you literally have no other benefit on this route than priority check in and a meal & a drink on and before your flight, especially as there is no fast lane for security in Luxembourg and no one at London City airport.

It might only make sense to book this flight in Business class if you need one or more checked bags if you do not have a oneworld status, as this return flight is often available for under 200€.
