Flight Review: KLM business class B777 Amsterdam to Vancouver
Flight Review: KLM business class Amsterdam to Vancouver B777-300
Boarding
Boarding was smooth and efficient. Another very nice thing was that it only took us 5 minutes to clear security an immigration in Amsterdam.
Flight
Flight was operated by a refurbished Boeing 777-300. WIFI was accesible on the flight but we did not use it as only paid options were available.
Seats
Seat layout on this plane was a 2-2-2, which is for sure not the best configuration, especially if you travel alone. Window seats don’t offer direct aisle access.
The Seats itselves on this flight were brand new and very comfortable. The back of the seat and the leg support were both separately adjustable, which is realy nice.
In the sleeping position the seat is with 206 cm, long enough and very comfortable even for taller passengers. Although the bed is too narrow, you can lower one of the arm rests to increase the width a bit.
Another draw back is that there are definitely not enough storage options available in KLM business class. Privacy of the seat is not too good either, there is a fixed divider to give you more privacy, here it would be nice to have a movable divider if you travel together.
Depending on the seats you are sitting in, the footrest area is realy tiny.
The provided pillow was fluffy and it was no problem to sleep on it.
Nice large IFE touchscreens with a good resolution and plenty of available movies.
Amenities
The amenety kit came in a stylish brown bag, but it contained only the basics such as an eye mask, socks, earplugs, a comb, toothbrush and toothpaste.
Food & Drinks
Food was good as was the drinks selection. You can have a look at the menu of the KLM business class in the pictures below.
Service
Service was prompt, professional and friendly as it should be.
Pre-departure drinks were served quickly and it didn’t take too long to get the food as well.
Since 1952 on KLM, miniature houses are given as present to passengers on board of every KLM Intercontinental flights in the business class, which is realy cool.
You can read more on theses houses on a deicated homepage here
Conclusion
We can recommend KLM business class on their refurbished planes. Seats are comfortable, food is good and service attentive, overall a solid business class product but there are betters ones on the market.
